U.Va. Employee Special

U.Va. employees can use the Education Benefits Program available through Human Resources to pay for the edUI workshops.

Some special restrictions apply including:

• Ed Benefit money can only be used to pay for the educational activity (not food)
• Special add-on "Food Ticket" above will NOT be covered by Ed Benefit
• U.Va. employees must obtain a "Certificate of Completion" verifying they completed the training workshops.  These will be available at the conference registration table.
• You must have enough money remaining in your ed benefit for this calendar year to cover the registration costs.
  

Process

1. Register for the conference using the Special U.Va Rate ticket above
2. Pay the fees using your credit card
3. Complete the Enrollment Form on the HR Website
4. List "edUI Remaining Strong" as the course
5. Enter $425 as the cost of the course
6. Submit the form to U.Va. Human Resources for reimbursement

What's Included

Day 1 provides a deep exploration of one topic through full-day workshops with one of our headliner presenters, Molly Holzschlag, Dana Chisnell, Dan Rubin, or Derek Featherstone.

Day 2 provides a broad range of learning opportunities through over a dozen shorter sessions, including the keynote with Jared Spool and plenary with Michael Wesch. The workshop leaders from day one will each give shorter presentations on day 2 as well, giving you the chance to hear one that you might have missed the day before.

What's NOT Included

The Education Benefit cannot be used to pay for anything not directly related to the educational activity.  Food, t-shirts or other conference swag is NOT included in this special ticket.

If you choose to purchase the optional Food Ticket you will be responsible for that cost.

• A full-day workshop with one presenter on day 1

• Access to digital copies of presentation slides and other media of conference proceedings

Optional Food Ticket - $40
Not covered by Education Benefit

Includes:

• Continental Breakfast Both Days
• Afternoon Snacks Both Days
• Box Lunch on Day 1
• Birds of a Feather Buffet Lunch/Networking Opportunity on Day 2

Registration Confirmation

Registration will be confirmed by e-mail. This e-mail will include your chosen registration option and the amount you have paid. If you are paying online you will be provided a printable receipt at the end of the payment process. Please bring this or a photo ID to the onsite check-in at the event.

A more comprehensive e-mail message will be sent closer to the conference start date. It will include information about onsite check-in, agenda updates, and more.


Transfers, Cancellations, and Refunds

Your conference registration may be transferred to another person within your organization at any time by notifying us in writing. If you must cancel, please notify us by phone, email, or mail by August 22, 2009. You will receive a refund for the package you chose, less a 5.5% cancellation fee. Cancellations made after the deadline, as well as "no-shows," are liable for the full registration fee.

In the event that the conference is cancelled, registration fees only will be refunded. Cancellations of travel reservations and hotel reservations made directly with the hotel are the responsibility of the attendee.


Speaker Cancellations

If a speaker listed on our program should be unable to attend the conference, all efforts will be made to replace him or her with one of comparable experience and qualifications. In the cases of Jared Spool, Michael Wesch, Molly Holzschlag, Dana Chisnell, Dan Rubin, or Derek Featherstone, this might be difficult however, and we make no guarantees that we will find a replacement of similar stature or at all. If one of these presenters cancels, we will be sure to inform you if you are registered for their full-day workshop. At that time we will work with you to arrange appropriate alternatives.
